Flesh torn apart, blood squirting out, the pain- so unbearable! The lacerations created by the whiplash- so bloody! The crown of thorns pierced his already bleeding scalp. In pain, they still mocked him, shouting- crucify him! crucify him!! crucify him!!!
They did crucify him!…but if only they had known, they wouldn’t have crucified him…
You see friends, you need not be bad before people attack you, betray you, conspire against you, mock you, crucify you or even kill you!
Jesus, our perfect example,In whom there was no sin found! He was blameless! Remember, the Holy scriptures stated that he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). Yet, His own people (His very own people, the Jews) hated Him and sought to kill him. I mean to kill Him!
So they began to seek for faults in him and you know – when you begin to seek faults, you will definately find one-atleast the one that lies in the wickedness of your heart that makes you see everything as a fault!
See the faults they cooked up against Jesus:
# Matthew 26:59 stated that- Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death; 26:60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
26:61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
26:66 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
#Luke 23:2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
#Luke 23:5 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.
You will also notice that they also accused him of healing on the sabbath day- an offense they say its against their law. They also accuse him of mingling with sinners. Can you imagine that!
Jesus actually said the temple would be brought down and rebuilt in 3 days but because they lacked understanding they assumed he spoke of the physical temple but he spoke of his body that will die and ressurect on the third day! Foolish men-their hearts were covered and blinded by hate!
Jesus actually sat with sinners because He came for the sick and not for those who are whole! Yet, these men where blinded with hate! they couldnt see it!
When Jesus stopped them from stonning to death the adulterous woman, i strongly believe they must have recovenned somewhere to say he supports wrongdoing. What a generation of vipers!
Can you imagine this men been angry because Jesus healed on the sabbath day? which is more important- the miracle or the sabbath law!
What about Judas Iscariot?! What did Jesus ever do to him. For him to be a treaurer,Jesus must have trusted him. Yet, he betrayed His master. Treason!
What of Peter, who swore to be with Jesus even till death?! He denied Jesus at the time Jesus needed him the most!Treason!
So, you see?!
Even if you are Jesus, blameless and you go about doing good, men will still seek for your fall!
If you have found yourself in such betrayal, attacks and loneliness, fret not! There will always be a revival.
See what 1 Corinthians 2:8 says- Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
If your enemies had known, they wouldn’t have dared to touch you! See what lies in wait for them;
#Psalms 35:4 says-Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
35:5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them.
35:6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them.
35:7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul.
Psalms 132:18a says – His enemies will I clothe with shame…
Isaiah 54:15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake…
…this is just a few among many promises of God against your enemies!
For you, see what God has in stock for you even amidst crisis!
Jeremiah 1:19 says- And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
Luke 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
Psalms 105:14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; 105:15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
Zechariah 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
Isaiah 49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
49:25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
49:26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
These are just few scriptures among many others to assure you of victory.
Remember Daniel? they conspire against him but the lion ended up eating them and their household.
Remember Mordecai?! Haman led him on a royal horse and announced him as a man the king honored and Haman was hanged on the same gallow he prepared for Mordecai and the Jew.
Remember Proverbs 26:27 says Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
Remember Joseph?! his own brothers desired to kill him and ended up selling him into slavery but they eventually came bowing to him and he became their saviour!
This is will be your story in Jesus name.
Just like Mordecai, you will be remembered and enthroned in Jesus name!
Just like Daniel, those lions around you will not be able to touch you!
Whatsoever the enemy has stolen from you will be restored in Jesus name!
Today is the expiry date to that issue!
